Kootenay Rockies

The mountain, unfiltered

BUILD YOUR ADVENTURE

THE REGION

Some of our best snow days in BC have been lived here. Deep powder, big terrain and ski days that start early and make you forget completely to look at the time. The Kootenays are one of those places we return to when we want real mountains.

In winter we come mostly for skiing and backcountry, especially if you're after more advanced terrain and long days in the snow. When summer arrives, the landscape changes, but not so much the kind of trip: mountain biking, alpine hiking, mountain roads and hot springs to end the day.

Revelstoke and Golden each have their own character, and part of the experience is travelling the road that connects them, changing plans according to conditions and staying an extra day when the snow deserves it.

If you're looking for powder, more technical terrain and a part of BC that still feels a little wilder, this is probably where we'll take you.

Two places. Two ways to live the mountain.

Revelstoke

Revelstoke

For coming to ski.

Days of deep powder, plenty of vertical and terrain that keeps giving options when you're after something more advanced. It's one of those places where, if it's snowing, the rest of the trip can wait.

Golden

Golden

For feeling small among the mountains.

Here the landscape is more alpine, more vertical and a little wilder. In winter, Kicking Horse is the protagonist; in summer, we swap skis for hiking, rafting and days exploring the Rockies.

Are the Kootenay Rockies for you?

The Kootenays are for those who have already done Whistler and want more terrain with fewer people around. You can ski deep powder in the morning, ride technical singletrack a couple of days later and end the day in natural hot springs. It's a more spread-out, less polished region than Sea-to-Sky, and much of its charm lies there.

Precisely because conditions vary so much between valleys, a tailor-made trip makes the difference. We choose towns, season and pace with the local knowledge this region demands.

OUR VISION

There are mountain trips you do once and others that make you want to come back every winter. For us, the trips to the Kootenays are the second kind.

Here we have lived some of our best snow days in BC: deep powder, more advanced terrain and towns where the mountain is part of everyday life. But what we really like is that every place feels different. Revelstoke for long ski days, Rogers Pass when you want to go beyond the lifts, and Golden for alpine terrain.

If you already know BC's most popular mountains and are looking for something a little deeper, more technical and wilder, this is the trip we want to show you.

Your Kootenay Rockies, your way.
