Tofino and Pacific Rim
One of those areas you always want to go back to. Huge beaches, old-growth forest, surf, and days when the plan can simply be to follow the coast and see where you end up.

BUILD YOUR ADVENTURETHE REGION
After countless trips to Vancouver Island, we have learned that the island changes completely depending on which way you choose to drive. You can start among Victoria's streets and gardens, cross forests that have stood for centuries, reach the beaches open to the Pacific, or keep heading north, where the roads empty out and nature grows ever wilder.
We have come for the surf, to walk for days along the coast, to look for wildlife, to explore small islands and, many times, simply to disconnect. Even the ferry has become part of the journey: that moment when you leave the city behind and everything starts to go a little slower.
That is why we don't want to show you one single Vancouver Island. Tell us what brings you here — adventure, wildlife, surf, good food or simply a few days far from everything — and we will build the trip around it.

One of those areas you always want to go back to. Huge beaches, old-growth forest, surf, and days when the plan can simply be to follow the coast and see where you end up.

Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, is a more urban stop, but one worth taking slowly. Good coffee, restaurants, gardens, neighbourhoods to explore on foot and the ocean always close. Head out on a whale-watching tour for a chance to see whales and other marine wildlife.

Everything moves a little slower here. Small ferries, quiet roads, farms, markets and spots by the water where it's easy to end up staying longer than you planned.

The further north you drive, the wilder the island gets. Fewer people, emptier roads, small communities and some of the best places to get close to nature and marine wildlife.
Vancouver Island is for you if you find it hard to choose between sea and mountains, between adventure and slowing down. Here you can spend a few days surfing in Tofino, walk through forests that seem never to end and, a few days later, be in the north of the island looking for whales.
That is precisely what keeps bringing us back: every trip can be completely different. You can come for the surf and end up discovering a trail you hadn't planned, stretch a night on a Gulf Island, or decide to keep driving north.
You don't need to know exactly what you want to do before you come. Tell us what you like, how much time you have and what kind of trip you imagine. We'll help you put the pieces together and find your own way to live Vancouver Island.

OUR VISION
We have taken the ferry to Vancouver Island more times than we can count, and we still love that feeling of leaving the city behind and starting to slow down.
Tofino was one of the reasons we started going, but over the years we have kept exploring: Victoria, the Gulf Islands, small coastal communities and roads that have taken us further and further north.
And that is probably what we like most about the island: there is always something left to discover. That is how we want you to travel it too, without too much hurry and with room to change the plan, take another ferry or stay one more night.
